Launching a new instance

  • HTTP Request Returned 409 Conflict: Client already exists
  • The instance ID ‘…’ does not exist

Data Volumes

  • RuntimeError: Volume vol-… attached at xvdf but does not conform to this resource’s specifications

Chef resources

  • windows_task, ArgumentError: invalid date

Custom resources

  • NoMethodError: undefined method `exists?’ for Chef::Resource::File:Class
  • Chef custom resource is using the same property name as the called resource

Attributes

  • Undefined method or attribute error in a Chef recipe
  • could not find filename for attribute .DS_Store in cookbook
  • Chef FATAL: IndexError: string not matched

Attaching servers to a domain

  • Computer ‘…’ failed to join domain. The value provided as the current password is incorrect.
  • Computer failed to join domain from its current workgroup ‘WORKGROUP’ with following error message: The system cannot open the device or file specified.

  • aws: command not found

Policy Files

  • chef push always regenerates the revision id and Policyfile.lock.json
